Dryland Training

Dryland training is an important part of a diver’s training regimen.  The facility at Midwest Gymnastics in Little Canada includes a spring floor, trampolines, tumble track, foam pit, and a dryland diving board. All of this equipment will enhance skill acquisition in a safe environment while getting plenty of repetitions during practices. The dryland diving board is equipped a spotting harness and belt system, where divers can practice and learn new diving skills in a safe and secure environment with the assistance of a coach.

Dryland training will include both physical readiness and skill/technique components. The skill components will focus on establishing correct movement patterns on solid ground with multiple repetitions. Divers will continue this learning by performing skill work on the trampoline, dryboard, tumble track and into the foam pit to learn proper skill progressions and build confidence.

Dryland training benefits include enhancing divers’ confidence, skill acquisition through multiple repetitions, learn visual spotting, safe environment, and building general and sport strength and flexibility for better fitness.
