13 & Under

Our 13 & Under group is for divers who have mastered the basic fundamental skills and dives in each direction from the Future Champions program, they will progress to the appropriate program based upon their age. The focus for the 13 & Under program will be to continue progression from basic dives and skills toward more complex dives on both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards.  Practices for this group will be one hour and 45 minutes in length. They will also prepare for local and regional competitions, with the option to participate. There are three age groups in this category 9&U, 10-11/11&U and 12-13. For additional information on the diving rules and what a competitive list would consist of, please refer to the USA Diving Junior rules . The goals for the 13 & Under program will be to have fun while continuing a commitment to becoming a successful diver.  If you are unsure whether or not the 13 & Under program is the right fit for your diver, please contact Coach Jason at 612-499-2263.

We ask that you let us know in advance by emailing which practices you will be missing, and what day/date, location and time you would like to attend as a make-up. If we can accommodate changes, we will let you know.

Vacations or missed time during the session: Vacations or missed time during the session are handled in one of two ways, both require you communicate via email with Coach Jason prior to your registration. Please contact Coach Jason and work out make-ups for practices you will be missing or to discuss prorated costs for the time you will be missing.

North Star Diving Inclusion Discount Program – In an effort to make the sport of diving more accessible to all, North Star Diving has received a grant from USA Diving. For any potential diver whose family is receiving government assistance (e.g. Medicaid, Free/Reduced school lunch programs, food stamps, Head Start, etc.) that can show documentation of such assistance, North Star Diving is offering an excellent opportunity to try the sport of diving. Divers will need to purchase a 2026 USA Diving Athlete Membership ($40 plus processing fees). If the diver will be 18 years old on December 31 of 2026, there are some additional steps. They will also need a background screening ($30) and to complete free online Safe Sport training. 2026 USA Diving membership will be available starting December 1, 2025, and it will be valid until December 31, 2026. Diver will be responsible for 10% of the program fees, the seasonal membership fee is excluded. The other 90% of their training fees will be waived and supported by the USA Diving Grant. This program is not eligible for any additional practice discounts. If you are interested in this program, contact Coach Jason Baumann via email at jason@northstardiving.com and inquire about the Inclusion Discount program.
